A showroom open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year - with global
reach, multimedia and the ability to interact and provide information
to customers - the World Wide Web is rapidly becoming a major
revenue source for businesses everywhere. The incredible potential
has convinced many established and new businesses to create Web
sites to market their products and services.
A successful Web site is not just good looking 'pages'. A well-planned
site incorporates good graphics and content, easy-to-use navigation,
interactivity, planned use of "key words and phrases" and a commitment
to promoting the fact that it exists.
"Build it and they will come" does not apply. Once the site is
on the Internet, the time-consuming process of getting linked
to search engines, reciprocating links with other sites and attempting
to drive visitor traffic to the site begins. The Web site should
also be promoted with public relations and advertising.
